RSE joins IRENA to promote good practices in the adoption and development of long-term model-based energy scenarios.

RSE (-with Maria Gaeta, leader of Scenario and System Analysis group), is working, alongside the parent company GSE, as the national focal point of IRENA's Long-Term Energy Scenario Network (LTES Network). RSE will act as the technical institution supporting Italian Government in official scenarios development and government planning.

IRENA's Long-term Energy Scenarios (LTES) Network provides a global platform to exchange knowledge and good practices in the use and development of model-based long-term energy scenarios (LTES) to guide the clean energy transition. It aims to promote wider and more effective use of LTES in government for energy and climate policymaking through workshops, webinars and publications.

The Long-term Energy Scenarios for the Clean Energy Transition campaign, also known as the LTES campaign was initiated in May 2018 under the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) to promote the improved use and development of LTES for the clean energy transition. The campaign is led by the governments of Denmark and Germany, and co-ordinated by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

RSE will contribute to LTES Network with its long experience in energy models and in decarbonization scenarios development to support and accelerate the energy transition among CEM countries. It will seek to promote wider and more effective use of Long-Term model-based energy scenario (LTES) in government for energy, sustainable policy and climate policy-making towards clean energy.

This is another opportunity for RSE to combine its work in international institutions and initiatives with the day by day research engagement to support the National Government in Energy management.
